The school had an "older" somewhat outdated feel to the interior but everything was clean and in good condition.
I recently visited this school to see my friend perform Hula in what turned out to be a spring dance recital extravaganza (all ages, abilities and styles of dance). It was sort of like being in a TV episode of Dance Moms only there was no Abbey Lee Miller yelling or causing trouble.
.
An amazing community of intellectually-minded students who encourage diversity in many ways, despite the lower levels of racial diversity within the school. All the teachers I have encountered in the Science, English, and Math departments are dedicated and helpful. The IB program is an amazing learning experience (and a LOT of work). Overall, a school I'm proud to be graduating from.
Don't drink the Kool-aid from the earlier Poster:
Front office staff is unhelpful and rude. The student body is not very diverse and has a huge money gap. The only teachers that were exceptional are those of the arts. The music program is amazing as is the technical theater program. The arts and literature teachers are also very good. All of the different staff in the various arts are helpful and friendly.
The school was easy to find and there was definitely ample parking. It was not immediately obvious where the auditorium/stage was located but thankfully my friend alerted me of where the entrance was located.
I did the IB program and now I'm dead, gay, and a communist. Not even once. 2/10 would not reccommend but being dead is
The bathrooms were conveniently located and offered many stalls.
This school is a great community asset, and because it's in Niwot, the sign proudly reads, "Home of the Cougars!" The mega-digital sign itself is new, and probably costs as much as some school's annual budget. There are expansive athletic fields and a track that would be the envy of any 2nd tier college. The building is maintained well and the theater is top-notch.
Diversity-schmersity, high school is about getting ready for a tough and declining World, not worrying about being part of the Pepsi Generation. ;)
I was immediately surprised by just how large the auditorium was, it was definitely wider and deeper than the Boulder theater. The seats were comfy and in good repair (not one of us sat in a "bad" seat).
The acoustics were great and we were able to hear all the music clearly although we were seated very far back.
